IRGC top commander: Enemies never able to overthrow Islamic Republic in Iran
Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari underlined inability of the US and its allies to implement its long-awaited plot to overthrow the Islamic Republic in Iran through sanctions and pressures.
"The enemies do not dare to discuss overthrow of the Islamic Republic and will take this wish to their graves," General Jafari said, addressing a ceremony in Iran’s Eastern province of South Khorassan on Tuesday.
He also warned of attempts by enemies to foment insecurity inside Iran and change the country's behavior, and said they want to display the Islamic Republic inefficient through economic pressures and plots against Iran's security.
General Jafari, meantime, said that the Iranian nation has opted for the path of resistance and will stand against enemies' plots.
On November 5, the US Treasury Department reinstated all sanctions on Iran lifted under the 2015 nuclear deal, violating the UN backed deal.
