One of the ethical virtues, which were evident in the tradition of the Prophet of Islam’s Infallible Household, was to serve people and to respond to their material and spiritual needs. Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny), on several occasions pointed out that those who are more beneficial for people, are the ones who are further endeared by God.

Prophet Mohammad distributed the wealth of his venerable wife, Khadija, among the disadvantaged strata, and even collected and distributed dates from palm groves, handing them over to the poor and the needy in Medina and Mecca.

According to the First Infallible Successor to Prophet Mohammad, Imam Ali (Peace be upon him), the Prophet was hungry most of the time, in order to feel and realize the hardships of the poor and the needy.

The Prophet of Islam noted:  “The one, who sleeps with a full stomach, while someone in his neighborhood remains hungry, has no faith in me.”

Gaining an understanding of the hardships of others and feeling responsible toward them is of paramount importance in the Islamic culture. Thus, the Prophet of Islam noted that the most devout and faithful among people are those who are more benevolent and chaste.

In the Islamic culture, a true Muslim should intend to honesty and sincerely serve people, far from any resentment and/or enmities. Such a spirit maintains an elevated status in the view of God.

Meanwhile, one of the most effective approaches for encouragement of individuals to serve people is presentation of rewards. Although the self-built individuals solely intend to please God, and serve people in a modest and honest manner, presentation of rewards is a logical principle which God has focused upon, in the ayahs of Holy Quran. This logical principle has also been attended in the tradition of Prophet of Islam’s Infallible Household.

At times, an individual can gladden someone with a warm and amicable comment, or can encourage others to assist the needy with kindhearted remarks. Such measures are highly valued and treasured in the view of Prophet Mohammad. The Prophet noted that: Whoever makes a kind comment toward his Muslim brethren, and solves another Muslim’s problems, benefits from the unending kindness and mercy of God.

In a just Islamic rule, there should be no sign of discrimination, class gaps, and poverty. The Ulema and officials of an Islamic ruling system are duty-bound to defend the rights of the deprived people. If they do not fulfill their responsibilities, it is the duty of the Islamic community to try to end poverty and to meet the requests of the needy. One of the basic and vital needs of human beings is to maintain food security.

In the so-called contemporary civilized world, thousands of individuals starve to death and/or suffer from malnutrition, every day. In contrast, a few are at the peak of welfare and wastefulness. Under such an atmosphere, the ones, who are aware of the hardships of the needy cannot remain indifferent, and stand up to feed the poor.

Clothing and maintenance of the social security is another basic need of mankind. In a material world in which fashion shows have disheartened committed and kindhearted individuals; millions of people are barefooted; suffer from shortage of food; and are exposed to several social and cultural vulnerabilities. Meanwhile, the pious individuals rush to help the poor by clothing them.

At times; problems, shortcomings, and needs spread to an entire community, such that the removal of these needs and shortcomings would be an impossible task without a collective resolve, especially if the domestic and foreign enemies have entered the scene and are hell-bent on tightening the noose on Muslims via imposition of military threats and economic sanctions, in a futile bid to dissuade Muslims from their beliefs and ideals. This is what the World of Islam is currently faced with. On one hand; the US, Europe, and Global Zionism have fully entered the scene, and have waged war against Islam and Muslims, through plotting a number of political, military, and economic conspiracies, and, on the other hand, the treacherous regional rulers serve Global Arrogance and have formed a united front with the Global Arrogance, in order to somehow stabilize their political status and to maintain their economic interests, committing heinous crimes in line with their Satanic goals.

Under these conditions, can a true Muslim remain silent? Can those who have remained silent in the face of hardships and massacre of Muslims, be referred to as Muslims?

Undoubtedly, the Global Arrogance is intent on sabotaging the humanitarian aspect of pure Islam, via driving a wedge among Muslims, and pitting them against each other.
