Iran have kick-started their Asian qualifying campaign for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup in China, with a 2-nil away victory over group C rivals in Hong Kong.

According to Press TV, Iran’s National Football Team (Team Melli) went ahead midway through the first half, when Zenit Saint Petersburg striker Sardar Azmoun volleyed home from inside the area.

And with nine minutes into the second half, Alireza JahanBakhsh produced a cutback for Karim Ansarifard, who put the result beyond doubt for the Iranians with a simple finish.

Iran’s next match will be against Cambodia on October the 10th.
