  • Iran crowned at Junior World Kabaddi C'ship

Iran has been crowned in the 1st-ever Junior World Kabaddi Championship, after overwhelming Kenya 42-22 in the final match.

According to Press TV, Iran started on the front foot, leading by as many as 11 points midway through the 1st half, and went on to extend its lead to 15, holding a 23-8 advantage at the intermission.

In the 2nd half, Kenya showed signs of a comeback after improving its offensive display, but Iran managed to hold it off with a solid defense, securing the victory with an extended 20-point gap to win gold at the 1st ever Junior World Championships.

Kenya and Pakistan collected Silver and Bronze respectively.

The event kicked off on the ninth of November in Iran’s Kish Island and ended on November the 15th.
