Iran claims 4 medals on day 1 of Asian Wrestling C'ships
Beginning with the 2020 Asian Wrestling Championships in India, where Iran’s National Team has concluded the first day of the competition with 4 medals, Amin Mirzazadeh topped the podium in the 130-kg category, after overpowering his Korean rival 9-nothing.
Iran won another gold, as Pouya Naserpour defeated his Uzbek opponent 8-nothing in the 55-kg.
Pejman Poshtam settled for Silver in the 77-kg, following a 10-to-1 loss to his Kazak rival, and Meysam Delkhani pocketed a bronze in the 63-kg category.
In the overall standings, Iran currently sits atop on 85 points, 5 clear of Kazakhstan, with Uzbekistan taking the 3rd spot. The competition will continue with the remaining weight categories on Wednesday.
