More presidential hopefuls sign up for election: 2nd day of registrations in photos
Wednesday was the second busy day at the Interior Ministry in Tehran, the site for the registration of hopefuls seeking to join the country’s 13th presidential election, slotted for June 18.
According to Press TV quoting the Ministry’s Election Committee, nearly 60 people — from ordinary citizens to former officials and well-known figures with different political groups — signed up for the polls on Wednesday.
Among the most notable hopefuls who filed their applications were former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and several of ex-ministers under him, namely Rostam Ghasemi, former Oil Minister, Mohammad Abbasi, ex-Sports and Labor Minister, and Sadegh Khalilian former Agriculture Minister.
