Turkish FM hails friendly relations with Iran
The Turkish foreign minister hailed what he called “friendly and prime” relations with neighboring Iran.
According to Tasnim news agency, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian held a meeting on the sidelines of an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Islamabad on Sunday.
In the gathering, the top Turkish diplomat lauded his country’s "friendly and prime" relations with Iran.
He also conveyed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s warm greetings to Iranian officials.
The two senior diplomats further held consultations about the regional developments and made arrangements for the Turkish president’s visit to Tehran in future.
The foreign ministers of the OIC members have gathered in Pakistan for an emergency meeting focusing on the crisis in Afghanistan.
