Iran have kicked off their Asian Boys' Under 18 Championship with a clean sweep over China. Seven-time champions Iran showed their status as the continental super-powers by breezing past their East Asian opponents with a commanding score of 25-21, 25-17 and 25-22 at the Azadi Hall in Tehran.

According to Press TV, Iran's National Team (Team Melli) are scheduled to meet Kuwait in Pool A on Wednesday and Chinese Taipei on Thursday.

That’s while two-time defending champions Japan are in Pool B, alongside India, Thailand and South Korea. The top 4 teams at the tournament will qualify for the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Boys' U19 World Championship, as the AVC representatives.
