Trump revealed US secret new nuclear weapons system, according to new bombshell book
US President Donald Trump bragged about a secret new nuclear weapons system in an interview with a journalist, according to excerpts from a new book.
Excerpts from “Rage” by Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward published Wednesday showed the president made the comments when talking about how the US and North Korea came close to war back in 2017.
“I have built a nuclear — a weapons system that nobody’s ever had in this country before. We have stuff that you haven’t even seen or heard about,” Trump told Woodward.
He further claimed that the new nuclear weapons system is unheard of by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“We have stuff that Putin and Xi have never heard about before,” he alleged. “There’s nobody — what we have is incredible.”
Trump was reportedly referring to the controversial submarine-launched low-yield nuclear warhead, his administration has been pursuing as part of its 2018 Nuclear Posture Review.
Trump occasionally brags about new US weapons the details of which the Pentagon has tried to withhold.
He claimed in May that the US military has developed a “super duper” missile 17 times faster than anything previously in its arsenal.
