  • Supporters of Palestinians hold protests in Washington D.C., NY, LA

Protests have been held in some US cities to condemn Israel’s brutal acts in Palestine amid a surge in the regime’s aggression against Palestinians.

This comes as tensions have escalated in al-Quds, the occupied West Bank and Gaza throughout the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, amidst the planned forced expulsions of dozens of Palestinians from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, where illegal Israeli settlers are looking to take over the properties of Palestinian families.

According to Press TV, on Tuesday, more than 100 demonstrators gathered for a pro-Palestinian rally outside Israel’s consulate in Los Angeles.

Protesters were holding Palestinian flags with speakers criticizing Israel for human rights abuses and oppressive measures.

“You can see Israeli aggression especially in Northern al-Quds and Gaza,” said Sami Wassef, who attended the protest. “Houses are being confiscated and families thrown out.”

Thousands of pro-Palestinian New Yorkers also packed the streets of Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday.

The protest, titled “rally to save Palestine,” began near the Israeli consulate. The demonstrators then marched toward Times Square, shutting down 42nd Street.

They chanted slogans such as “Defend al-Quds,” “Gaza under attack,” “No more money for Israeli crimes,” “Free Palestine” and “End the occupation now.”

Demonstrations also took place in Washington D.C. with protesters carrying banners condemning Israeli actions.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Rep. André Carson (D-Ind.) joined the pro-Palestinian protest that took place outside the US State Department.
