Welcome to this week's episode of the series "In the Path of the Imam". In this episode, we discuss the behavioral pattern of the Father of Islamic Revolution, late Imam Khomeini (God's mercy upon him) with his venerable family members.

As a reminder, we partly spoke of the behavior of the Founder of Islamic Republic of Iran toward the members of his family, pointing out that late Imam highly honored and respected the members of his family, especially his venerable wife. Furthermore, late Imam always treated his family members fairly such that none of his family members sensed any trace of unfairness. Late Imam was especially kind toward youths and children, and called on the members of his family to be forgiving toward each other. In this episode, we intend to make you familiar with other aspects of the ethical and constructive interactions of late Imam with his venerable family members. Undoubtedly, familiarization with the behavior and ethical virtues of late Imam can be highly educational and constructive for us.

One of the characteristic traits and ethical virtues of late Imam was that despite of his advanced age, he always carried out his personal tasks on his own. According to one of the associates of late Imam in Paris, the Father of Islamic Revolution carried out all of his personal tasks such as organization of his working room, letters, and reports, in addition to archiving them.

Late Imam always assisted his venerable spouse and family members in carrying out the house chores.

According to late Imam's venerable daughter, Seddiqeh Mostafavi; late Imam always helped the family members in carrying out house chores. For instance, late Imam always poured his own cup of tea. Even, whenever late Imam wanted a glass of water, he never told anyone to bring him one. He went to the kitchen and poured his own glass of water.

One of the other characteristic traits of late Imam was that he honored the rules of the house. Generally speaking, in any given country, and within all families, there are a set of rules which all family members should comply with. Otherwise, the foundations of family would be shaken.

Furthermore, late Imam was highly considerate toward his family members, and always consulted with his venerable spouse.

Late Imam also maintained a daily schedule and never wasted his time. He was also highly cautious that his daily schedule would not cause any possible inconvenience for other family members.

Late Imam also attached significant importance to fulfillment of his religious duties and obligations.

Given the elevated and honorable status of late Imam among his family members and the Iranian nation, his advices were warmly welcomed by them. Meanwhile, late Imam put especial emphasis on being a role model in practice.

Late Imam permitted his family members to express their views, to make their own decisions, and to accept responsibilities.

Late Imam also highly recommended and encouraged his children and family members to acquire sciences and knowledge, without getting into details.

Late Imam's granddaughter, Aatefeh Eshraaqi, notes that on several occasions she had asked late Imam to pray for her admission to university, adding that late Imam always pointed out that he prays for everyone and will pray for her too. In regard to the course of study, late Imam never suggested a particular scientific course. 'Late Imam only guided us and believed that we should make these decisions on our own.'
