American workers who are directly affected by the new coronavirus can expect purportedly more generous income replacement – but only briefly. If they are under government-ordered quarantine or isolation, self-isolating at the instruction of a health care provider or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms and seeking a medical diagnosis, they can make use of the new Federal Sick Leave Law for up to two weeks. During this time, they should receive their usual pay, capped at $511 per day.
