Assange extradition denial indicts US prison system but imperils journalism

The material that Julian Assange and WikiLeaks published contained evidence of war crimes committed by the United States. This is the first time a journalist has been indicted under the Espionage Act for publishing truthful information. Journalists are allowed to publish material illegally obtained by a third person if it is a matter of public concern.
